Samee's Story
Samee grew up playing outside in Colorado, and after high school graduation, attended the US Military Academy in West Point, NY. While attending college, she became a senior rated ski patroller on a snowboard and led the patrol for two years. In between all of the skiing, she attained her Bachelor of Science degree and commissioned as an Aviation Officer. After graduation, she qualified in Blackhawk helicopters and went on to earn her pilot in command and air mission commander while serving in South Korea. She then attended the maintenance test pilot course and took command of an aviation maintenance company in the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade. She deployed to Afghanistan as a troop commander leading maintenance and recovery operations and flying air assaults, aircraft recoveries, maintenance test flights and other aviation support missions. She took two more commands before transitioning out of the military. Samee moved back to Colorado because she missed the mountains. She is happiest when she is outside regardless of weather conditions and loves a lot of outdoor junky sports to include mountain biking, hiking, skiing, splitboarding in the backcountry, scuba diving, and learning how to climb. She spends all of her free time looking for another adventure and traveling, and her favorite view is the one from the top of the mountain. She is very passionate about VetEx’s mission and loves the community that they provide for veterans – bring veterans together and get them on incredible adventures outside. Come out and climb some mountains with us!
