As we wind down 2010 and the snow is falling in Colorado, though depending on where you ski, it doesn’t seem to be enough yet, the Vet-Ex team is looking back on 2010 with fond memories! Thanks to your support we’ve got a lot of amazing memories with some pretty amazing veterans and are looking forward to an even bigger and better 2011, but as always, we need your support to get it done!
When Nick and I started Vet-Ex, we had three goals for what we wanted to happen with veterans in the outside:
1. To create marquis multi-day trips for veterans throughout the United States and the world;
2. To create a network of regionally based Veterans Expeditions chapters to get veterans outdoors on a regular basis wherever you are;
3. To tell our story;
This past week, we took two big steps forward following our last big trip and were excited to support Jordan Latva, one of our original team members, as he hosted the first Veterans Expeditions Front Range trip on a one day snowshoe hike in Roosevelt National Forest.
If you are interested in starting a Veterans Expeditions chapter where you are leave a comment or get in touch with email@example.com and we’ll work to get you outside!
We also took a big step forward in being able to tell our story thanks to the generous support of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1, the original post, who signed on as our Associate Producer for the extended documentary we will release in 2011! Just as they led the way to set up one of America’s most recognized and effective veterans organizations, the members of Post #1 are continuing that tradition by helping us blaze our own trail.
Without the support of the Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) like the VFW, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), American Legion, and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, we could not do what we do!
To keep us on the trail for 2011, we would greatly appreciate your support this holiday season and invite you to give a gift to Veterans Expeditions in support of your service member or veteran!
