Yesterday 27 veterans (disabled and able bodied), family members, and supporters battled the traffic on I-70 to make it to one of Colorado’s favorite ski resorts, Loveland, for a great day on the slopes with new friends and old. WW2 Marine Veteran and participant in Iwo Jima, 84 year old Ken Bradford was our honorary team captain!
We were honored to have veterans with us from WW2, the Korean War, Vietnam, the Cold War, the Balkans, and recent conflicts. If I’m leaving out anyone’s conflict please let me know!
Additionally, we were joined by the past State Commander of the Colorado American Legion, the founder and members of Colorado American Legion Adventures, athletes from Paradox Sports, as well as athletes and founders from Sportainability.
We’ll hope to get a more complete write up about the event in the next couple of days, but for now wanted to get the pictures up (graciously provided by the fabulously talented Elizabeth Riley) so you can see what we’re doing!
We will be hosting a snowshoe event in and around El Doradorado Canyon State Park on March 19th and are planning a final spring skiing event for April as well as a late season snowshoe in the Colorado Springs area. If you have any ideas for what you’d like to do around Colorado or Wyoming, let us know and we’ll see if we can’t make it happen! We hope you can help us get over 100 participants out in April!
Meanwhile, get outside and we’ll see you on the trail!
