Like many of her peers, the events of 9/11 re-shaped Candice’s outlook on life. After graduating from Colorado State University - Pueblo, she accepted a commission in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2005. Candice earned her naval flight wings in 2008, was designated a F/A-18 Weapon Systems Officer in 2010 and spent the next three years fighting the Global War on Terrorism from the skies above, at home and abroad. Her final tour on active duty was training high risk of capture personnel at Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape School – East. She is currently pursuing her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest School of Medicine and serves as a Civil Affairs Officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Candice has climbed mountains all over the world including Mt. Fuji, Mt. Baker, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and Denali.
