Harmony always had a desire to do something that she felt was meaningful but also wanted to go to college immediately after high school so she joined the Reserve Officer Training Corps, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Outdoor Recreation and Adventure Education and also receiving her commission as an Officer in the U.S. Army. She joined the Engineer branch where she served for five years. She spent a short time deployed in Kuwait and her last year in the Army serving on a peace keeping mission in Kosovo. She was lucky to be stationed in Colorado for most of her time in the military where she could continue to pursue her favorite outdoor activities - mountain biking, climbing, whitewater rafting and snowboarding. After leaving the Army in 2017, she enjoyed raft guiding and backpack guiding on multi-day expeditions before beginning to pursue a degree in the medical field. She has a passion for teaching others about the outdoors and is able to keep fueling that passion through her connection in Veteran’s Expeditions. She still lives in Colorado and has no intention of leaving the state anytime soon!
