I graduated from Parkland High School in El Paso, TX in May 2006 and enlisted in the Air Force on April 2006 at age 17 under a six year contract as a 1N3 Cryptologiclinguist. I left for basic September 11th, 2006 at the age of 18. I went through language school at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA for a little over a year and then attended the cryptologic school at Goodfellow AFB before arriving to my first and only duty station, Ft. Meade/NSA Washington. I completed a tour in Iraq from April to November 2010 as a Remotely Piloted Vehicle Sensor Operator. I was honorably discharged in Aug 2013 as an Staff Sergeant, E-5 and began school at Colorado State University that same month. I am currently in my final year of school as an environmental engineering student at CSU. I was introduced to VetEx while I was climbing Denali with a private party. I met Nate, Nick and the rest of the team and decided to check them out when I returned to CO. My first trip was to Moab for some rock climbing. After that one trip I was sold and decided I wanted to help out the organization in any way I could. When I'm not studying or finishing a ridiculous amount of homework I spend much of my time staying fit and active to include backpacking, rock/ice climbing, lifting, mountaineering, trail running and yoga.
