Backcountry Skiing at Mount Rainier (Intermediate)

Want to get out on Washington's tallest peak? Check out this Mount Rainier ski tour up to Camp Muir. Stoke is required.

Depending on the conditions, this trip might head up to 10,000 feet at Camp Muir (9 miles round trip and 5,000ft of elevation gain) or stay at lower elevations and do laps in the area near Paradise. A good level of fitness is needed to successfully reach the camp. Participants will be expected to provide their own gear for this trip. This includes an alpine touring ski setup or splitboard, crampons for ski boots and/or skis, ice axe/whippet, avalanche beacon, probe, and shovel.

Requirements: Participants are required to have completed avalanche safety training (AIARE I or similar) and have prior experience backcountry touring.
