Bison Peak Summit Trail, Colorado Day Hike

Join us for a 12 mile and 3677ft of gain day hike to the top of Bison Peak near Deckers, CO. We will start at Ute Creek Trailhead Parking.  Those coming from Colorado Springs we will meet at the Safeway in Old Colorado City at 7:00 am and carpool.  Those coming from Denver it is quicker to take HWY 285 to Tarryall Rd.  This is a hike with significant elevation gain.  The first 1.5 miles are fairly easy but once the introduction is over it relentlessly climbs to the pass.  Once we hit the pass, we traverse above tree line with magnificent rock formations and amazing views.
