About the event
Join us for an advanced level trip in Colorado. We will divide the group into two. One group will be doing the Crestone Peak to Crestone Needle Traverse and the other group will climb Ellingwood Arete.
The Crestone Traverse is a 5th class climb with big exposure and technical climbing. Anyone who signs up should have significant 14er experience, be comfortable with exposure and climbing, and be ready for two big days in the mountains back to back.
The Ellinwood Arete climb is a technical roped rock climb up the NE face of Crestone Needle. Anyone who signs up for the rock climb should have multipitch rock climbing experience.
We will meet in Westcliffe on Friday evening and camp as a group. On Saturday morning we will do a gear check and backpack in 5 miles to South Colony Lake to establish a basecamp area. Sunday morning we will wake…
