SLC, UT Introduction to backcountry skiing (Beginner)

Big Cottonwood Canyon is a popular location for backcountry skiing! Join us for an introduction to backcountry skiing. The group will start the morning with an introduction to the equipment used (beacon, shovel, probe) for safely riding in the backcountry and we will then head out for a few runs.

People attending this event must be able to bring their AT ski set up/Splitboard, beacon, probe, and shovel. All of these are available to rent throughout the Salt Lake City area at various ski shops if you do not own your own. A full itinerary and gear list will be provided 2 weeks before the trip.

People attending this event should be able to ski blue runs confidently at the ski resort and have a good level of fitness.
