Women's Only Backpacking - Colorado

Come join us for a women’s only backpacking trip in the Indian Peaks Wilderness! We will hike what is known as The Pawnee Pass Loop. The trail takes us over both Buchanan Pass (11,837’) and Pawnee Pass (12,542’), camping for 2 nights and hiking for 3 full days. The total mileage of the trip is between 27 – 31 miles, depending on side hikes, with an estimated elevation gain of 7,500 feet total. Gorgeous views will make every step worth it!

No experience in backpacking required but participants must have proper personal gear (appropriate backpack, sleeping gear, shoes/boots, etc.) and the fitness to hike approximately 9– 12 miles per day carrying 30lbs. If you are need of personal gear (backpack, sleeping bag, etc.) please reach out to the trip leader to see if it can be resourced for you to borrow! We will meet Thursday evening or Friday morning in order to set out hiking early, returning to the trailhead on Sunday afternoon.
